The start of 2024. I used to think January to be the driest month in the year and never used it to my advantage. This year I am bussin the walls down applying for jobs, creating cover letters but also developing my soon to be 24 yr old! I am so proud to actually take the plunge and book punjabi lessons !

I am progressing slowly slowly but I am so eager to actually learn the mother tongue. For time I feel so embarrassed not understanding Punjabi and how to converse to my elders. It is so important to me to learn because it keep the culture alive. Punjabi culture is so joyful and vibrant and to be able to understand the language is a key element. I listened to bhangra for years but have no idea what the lyrics mean! Unless its Phitteh Mu Theri.

But this is what I am saying! Its all about advancing yourself and whether that big or small it still developing yourself and bettering your persona. My birthday is in 2 weeks and even though I am not eager for it I just like to be able to establish how much I have achieved. My new year starts on my birthday and each year its a countdown to each yr of how much i can achieve within that yr being that specific age. This time round I will be asking myself what 24 things i achieved. My own team player to get SHIT DONE. Its a nice time to reflect and deliberate what I need to change, keep and DASH.
